Isolators (Disconnectors) 11 kV to 420 kV

We supply and install the ELEKTROLITES range of isolators and disconnectors all voltages up to 400kV to all State Electricity Board and private sectors. Elektrolites also manufactures cost effective and respected disconnectors in all other configurations including Hrizontal centre break, Double break centre orating blade and banging type.

Application

The disconnectors are in effect safety devices and severe for mechanical isolation of systems. In the open position they provide a visible isolation distance. They are able to open or close a circuit if either a negligible current is switched or if no significant change occurs in the voltage between the terminal of the poles. The disconnectors can be applied in many of the usual switchyard layouts of high voltage installation. They are designed for horizontal outdoor application. Under special conditions vertical installation is possible. For earthing and short circulation of switched out portion of the installation, the incorporation of one or two earthling switches are possible on each disconnector.

Features

1. The moving contact blade is an Aluminum /copper tube with special copper profile with a bimetallic strip fitted with silver plated copper contacts.
2. The stationary contacts are silver plated copper, spring loaded to maintain constant contact pressure
3. The electrical contact system is easily and quickly replaced should it be damaged due to a fault current or damaging event.

Test And Quality

Successful type tests on the disconnectors have been carried out in our own and independent test laboratories in accordance with the latest ISS/IEC and DIN/VDE standards. Quality control of individual parts during manufactures ensure constant excellent product quality. Each equipment is subjected to all the routine tests also as per relevant standard at our before dispatch.

Operating Mechanisms

All disconnect can be supplied with manual operating mechanism or motor operating mechanism as requested by client. Each three pole disconnect or earthling switch group requires only one operating mechanism with the exception of 420 Kv 765 and 800 Kv disconnect or which is single pole operated. Disconnector and earthling switch can be mechanically inter locked with each other so that during manual operation it is only possible to operate the earthling switch with the disconnector in the open position and vice versa and whereas the motor operating mechanism of the disconnector is interlocked electrically.

The operating mechanism are fastened laterally to base frame the disconnect or install on high level it is possible to mount the operating mechanism within reach from the ground level by using of additional intermediate and operating shaft.

Motor Operating Mechanism

Salient features are as follows :-

1. Motor coupled with a reduction worm gear to increase the output torque. Ele interlock between breakere and earth switch.
2. Local /remote control facility.
3. Single phase preventor and over load protection device.
4. Pole discrepancy relays in case if individual pole operation.
5. Emergency local manual operation.
6. Snap action auxiliary switches with silver plated contacts having normal as contacts for signaling.
7. Enclosure box/ casing made of steel sheet or aluminum painted with epoxy tank process for long life depending on requirement.
8. Boxes confirm to IP 55 duly of ingress protection with doors with special gasket.
9. Provision for Padlock is provided.

Manual Operating Mechanism (BOM)

Supplied with manually operating handle and with reduction gear features on sp salient features are as follows:

1. Elector mechanical interlock.
2. Mechanism boxes are generally made out of sheet steel or aluminum sheet customers requirement.
3. Boxes are either painted after pre treatment is done with seven tank process galvanized.
4. Boxes conform to IP 55 duty of ingress protection with front door fitted with gasket.
5. Provision for pad lock

Installation

All disconnectors and earthing switches are pre assembled and adjusted in our works as complete as possible. The construction is designed in such a way that installation at site can be done very easily without need of any special tools. The phases can be installed in series, in parallel (normal) and tandem type as per site requirement and application.

Maintenance

The contacts are self cleaning (maintenance free) and do not show any wear after mechanical endurance test Silver to silver , high pressure reverse loop configuration to increase the contact pressure during short circuit condition Normal contact is maintained compression springs pocketed in side the loop formed by the contact fingers and the contact housing conductivity HDC and the housing is high conductivity aluminum alloy casting.

Disconnectors are practically maintenance free due to the selection of the materials used and the design, for example, covering of the gear box and use of bearings with permanent lubrication. to component expose to atmospheric condition. Under normal climatic conditions the inspection intervals are 5 years. The disconnector and earthing switches supplied by M/S Elektrolites are designed so as to ensure that they are virtually maintenance free.
