UGANDA AB SWITCHES

The terrain, altitude, and climate of Uganda makes for very typical design requirements for air break switches. Everything, from the insulator’s electrical performance, the operating assembly’s mechanical requirements, the end-user’s transportation needs, to the continuous maintenance requirements, needs specific design of each and every part.

The switches were designed to be installed with the least amount of shutdown time by making them factory assembled and aligned such that the end-user simply has to put 3 poles, one connecting pipe and a down-pipe along with the operating handle. No amount of time is spent in unpacking or re-assembling.

To prevent flashovers, an FRP insert was also designed to provide adequate insulation to the user from flashovers that sometimes occur during operation.
